Clear Brackets
Making braces more aesthetically acceptable for patients, whether adolescents or adults, clear bracket braces are also available. Also referred to as white, aesthetic, or clear braces, this orthodontic appliance is made of brackets bonded to individual teeth with an archwire running across them. The fundamental difference is that the brackets are made of clear or tooth-colored ceramic to blend in with the teeth. The difference is that the braces are less obvious to others.
Clear braces work like traditional metal braces. The only difference is how they look. The brackets are attached to the teeth using an epoxy, but the adhesive used with the clear brackets is much more gentle than that used with metal brackets. The gentler adhesive helps protect the enamel and reduce the risk of cavities developing behind the brackets. The bracket removal process is also gentler.
All bracket-based braces require an archwire running from bracket to bracket across the teeth. The brackets and wires all require elastic bands to hold them in place. While silver wires are mostly used, a less noticeable option would be frosted or white wires, and white or clear elastic bands can be used.
