One of the most exciting new technologies in dentistry today is an intraoral impression scanner. This scanner allows a dentist to do a 3D scan of a patient’s teeth and bite and use those images to make desired adjustments for transmission to a laboratory for appliance manufacturing.

The 3D scanning allows accurate images of the mouth to construct “impressions” of the bite without having to suffer through trays of goop.
